Roswell Incident

In the same year and the few weeks passed by the above incident, on a property just outside Roswell, New Mexico, debris was discovered. The US Army examined the debris and removed it. Later they described it in a news release as a "flying disc," which supported the UFO theory.

After holding a press conference, military personnel displayed the debris and claimed it was actually a weather balloon.
