Manhattan Project – A Step to Nuclear Destruction

The Manhattan Project has created a huge milestone in the history of the war as well as technology blends up with science. This project was a top-secret research project during World War II that aimed to develop the first nuclear weapons and it was initiated under the direction of President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the United States.

The project was led by the United States with the participation of the United Kingdom and Canada. The name was given after the Manhattan Engineer District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which managed the program.

The project was initiated in response to fears that Nazi Germany was developing a nuclear weapon. It resulted in the creation of two nuclear weapons. The atomic bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 is the first case reportedly use these bombs. As a result of the bombing World War II ended.
